Parent Testimonials

"My kindergartener has thrived with chess through ICN. He looks forward all week for Thursdays and Fridays when he can proudly wear his chess shirt and go to club. I've watched his confidence sky rocket as he grasped chess concepts and saw how his hard work correlated with chess success. I've also witnessed his sportsmanship skills grow as learns how to handle defeat and be a graceful winner."

- Becca Segal

“My two boys, currently 5th grade and 2nd grade love chess club! They look forward to club all week and can’t wait to share their chess accomplishments with their friends and coaches. Chess club has been a highlight of their time at PS 118, and given them the opportunity to develop confidence, focus, sportsmanship and strategic thinking, all while having a ton of fun.”

- Sivia Weintraub

“My son was introduced to chess through ICN’s in-school curriculum 2 1/2 years ago during his 3rd grade year. He would then go on to join the chess afterschool program and he has not looked back since! My son now regularly competes in chess tournaments both locally & nationally, always representing the PS 118 Wild Things. The exposure to chess has not only taught my son how to play chess well, it’s provided both a passion & life lessons that impact critical areas of a child’s world.”
